Fun Dog Shows

With dozens of classes and rosettes for the top three in each class - the fun dog shows are always popular with visitors of All About Dogs. Scruffts

In search of crossbreeds with that extra something special, Scruffts is open to crossbreed dogs over the age of six months, with Scruffts rosettes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each class. Scruffts will be taking place at our Newark show on Sunday 26th April only - SCRUFFTS PARTICIPATION TBC DUE TO COVID-19 DATE CHANGE

K9 Aqua Sports

K9 Aqua returns to this year's All About Dogs Shows due to popular demand! Come along and let your dog have a go and get super wet in this increasingly popular sport. Remember to bring your camera as you are sure to get some good shots of dogs flying through the air!

KC Good Citizen Bronze Test

Official Kennel Club Test... A series of simple exercises to test good behaviour. Entrants will either receive a "Pass" and a Certificate or a "Not Ready". Rosettes can be purchased for passes at £3 each. The test will be run by the Trent Valley Dog Training Club. Click here for more detailed information about the test.

Lure Race

Take on the lure challenge at our 2020 show! Lure Racing is where dogs chase an artificial lure across a field - see if your dog can get the fastest time in this year's lure race run by the Yorkshire Hoopers Club.

Hoopers

Have a go at one of the UK's fastest growing dog sports! Hoopers is a low impact sport using hoops, tunnels and barrels and is great for all aged dogs even older retired dogs. This year's have-a-go hoopers will be run by the Yorkshire Hoopers Club.

Agility Course

Dog agility is a dog sport in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. Dogs run off leash with no food or toys as incentives, and the handler can touch neither dog nor obstacles. Organised by Trent Valley Training Club, the agility course is open to dogs of all ages and breeds.

Flyball

Organised by Trent Valley Dog Training Club, Flyball is a fun, fast sport for you and your dog (any breed, any size), as long as dogs are over 12 months old they can play flyball. Bring your dog to visit the team and have a go at this increasingly popular dog sport.

Steeplechase

A fun retrieval activity, the Steeplechase requires your dog to navigate over a series of straw bales to retrieve a dummy. Organised by the PADS Dog Display Team, any size and any breed is welcome to take part and have a go.

Tombola Dash

This year's Tombola Dash challenge is organised by the Notts & Yorkshire Boxer Rescue. The fastest times within each hour will win a prize. Fastest dog of the day wins a rosette.

Fastest Recall

Fastest recall is a test of speed. It's a high energy canine sport which requires your dog to chase a toy.... then come back on recall. Will your dog be the quickest of the day? All proceeds of the Recall go to the German Shepherd Rescue Elite.

Fun Obedience Competition

A HUGE welcome back to the PADS Dog Display Team, who will be running a fun obedience competition over the weekend. With rosettes for 1st to 5th place, the obedience competition will run from 10am to 3pm. After 3pm the scores will be totalled and rosettes awarded. The exercises will be split into Beginners and Advanced Level with obedience tasks including on-lead heel work, sit stays, weaves, recall, stop at distance and more.

Scurry

Join the Scurry Bandits at our Newark Show and take on the team's scurry challenges. Your dog can have a go at their Bale Jump or Pick Up scurries with rosettes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for adults and juniors. The scurry will be running across both event days and any dog is welcome to take part.

Advice on Behaviour

Do you need some help and training advice for your dog? Join the experts from the Dogs Trust School Nottinghamshire for advice on behaviour as well as some training tips live at the show.
