Meet Retired Essex Police Dogs at All About Dogs Show Hylands

21/03/22

Back by popular demand, the Essex Police Dog Unit will be returning to the All About Dogs Show Hylands on Sunday 1st May 2022.

The Essex Police Dog Display Team will be showcasing the many attributes of Police Dogs including the detention of criminals, as well as demonstrating vehicle pursuits with a thrilling display in the Main Arena.

Plus, visitors will be able to meet the Essex Police Retired Dogs on the day and learn about the good work done by the Essex Retired Police Dogs Fund (ERPDF)

“When an Essex Police Dog is retired the police force is no longer responsible for its welfare, so no monies are available for vet or other welfare costs,” explains Linda Belgrove, Founder and Chair or ERPDF. “Animal insurance is often cost prohibitive for Retired Police Dogs due to the dangerous nature of their work. ERPDF is totally independent from Essex Police and is run by volunteers. All funds raised go towards the welfare of Essex Retired Police Dogs and for further fundraising initiatives.

“We need your help so that these exceptional dogs, that protected the people of Essex during their loyal service, can enjoy a happy & healthy retirement. Thank you for your support and do visit our stall to meet some of the Retired Police Dogs we are honoured to assist.”
