Meet Chloe & Assistance Dog Ocho at All About Dogs Newbury

We’re delighted to announce that Chloe Hammond and her assistance dog Ocho will be joining us at the All About Dogs Show Newbury on Sunday 16th April 2023.

Having recently featured on ITV’s The Morning, Chloe will be taking to the stage in our Village Green area to talk about how she fought against the odds to follow her dream career as a nurse, with the help of her assistance dog Ocho at her side.

Chloe, who was diagnosed with a rare disease when she was just 15, is now one of the only disabled Nurses in the UK in a wheelchair, working with an assistance dog.

“I want to inspire more people with disabilities (and assistance dogs) to consider careers in health and social care,” said Chloe. “I think if you’re looking for work and you’re worried about what you could do, please don’t think that care is out of the question just because you’ve got a dog. I use a wheelchair, I’ve got an assistance dog, I work in care…and I love it!”

Chloe will be talking in the Village Green at 12pm on Sunday 16th April 2023 with Ocho demonstrating some of his care tasking.
